Elena is a worker for the Upgrade of the Centre of Excellence LignoSilva project for the program WasteUse. Her main activity is the activity connected with the preparation of a demonstration of the use of wood ash and cellulose sludge in the cultivation of forest trees.
She studied at the Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Forestry. She is a doctoral student at the Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, since September 2024. The topic of her PhD thesis is Environmental Recovery of Processed Biological Waste.
She has been working in forestry research since 2005. Her professional focus is forest seed production and nursery production. She has been involved in solving projects within the framework of the APVV, tasks of professional assistance within the framework of the contract between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic and the National Forestry Commission. She is currently the head of the National Forestry Commission’s Seed Laboratory. She performs professional supervision in the field of forest reproductive material of forest trees. Currently, within the FERTILKLIM project, she is involved in the evaluation of information on seed quality and seed quality tests of forest tree species, the creation of databases and the statistical processing of evaluated data.
Since January 2024, Elena has been part of the team within the LignoSilva Centre of Excellence project. She is involved in activities demonstrating the impact of recycled waste on seeds in laboratory conditions and on seedling production in a forest nursery.
