Igor Viszlai is the Project Coordinator for the Upgrade of the Centre of Excellence LignoSilva project. His main responsibilities include coordinating project activities, maintaining communication with project partners, and ensuring the effective dissemination of project results.
He studied Forestry at the Technical University in Zvolen, completing his degree in 2013. He then began his PhD studies at the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Economics and Management, focusing on the evaluation of forest ecosystem services. During his studies, Igor participated in a study exchange at the University of Eastern Finland and completed a professional internship at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission in Italy.
His professional focus is oriented on communication within the forestry sector. Since 2016, he has worked as a communication expert for FOREST EUROPE – the Ministerial Conference on the Protection of Forests in Europe. In 2021, he joined the communication and marketing department at the National Forest Centre in Zvolen, later serving as the organization’s spokesperson.
Since January 2024, Igor has been part of the LignoSilva Centre of Excellence team, contributing to communication and outreach activities. As of December 2024, he works as the project coordinator.
In his free time, Igor enjoys running, cycling, and hunting.
