Independent Chemist - Analyst

Laura Korčoková is an Independent Chemist Analyst and Representative Metrologist at the accredited testing laboratory of the Central Forestry Laboratory (CFL), National Forest Centre. In the laboratory, she performs chemical analysis of samples, specifically gravimetric, potentiometric and spectroscopic methods to determine various indicators in soil, biomass, wood ash and cellulose sludge samples. She is also involved in the pre-treatment and mineralization of biomass samples.

She studied analytical chemistry at the Slovak University of Technology, Faculty of Chemical and Food Technology in Bratislava, where she completed the second-level university degree in 2023. After graduation, she joined the CFL of the National Forest Centre as an independent chemist-analyst. In September 2025, she will begin her doctoral studies at the Technical University in Zvolen, Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Science. She is a co-author of several scientific conference papers.

Since June 2024, Laura has been working on the LignoSilva Upgrade project, where she is responsible for conducting chemical and physico-chemical analyses of samples from demonstration cases. Her doctoral research will be closely linked to the LignoSilva Upgrade project with a dissertation focused on the use of wood ash in agroforestry.
