Mariana Konôpková has been working at the National Forest Centre in Zvolen, in the Department of Silviculture and Seed Control, since 2024 as an Independent Officer for the Management and Services of Reproductive Facilities.
She studied at Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice na Moravě, specializing in horticultural production, and graduated in 1996. From 1997 to 2024, she worked in several fruit and ornamental nurseries across Slovakia as a technical specialist.
At the National Forest Centre in Zvolen, she is involved in the various projects, where she serves as a forest nursery manager for the duration of the project. Within the nursery facilities of the Centre – the phytotron foil greenhouse at the Biotechnology Park Stráž and the rooftop greenhouse of the Centre’s building – she coordinates seedling production and oversees the management and use of movable and immovable assets.
As part of the projects, she also participates in mapping, grafting, and cultivating traditional regional apple and pear varieties from the Podpoľanie area. Data from her seedling production work contribute to the publication of research and informational materials.
Her hobbies include growing flowers, ornamental plants, and fruit trees.
