Martin Belko

Researcher

Martin is the member of the WasteUse program of the LignoSilva Upgrade project team. He assists and help to other WasteUse program members with designation, establishment, maintenance, assessment and implementation of demonstration cases and activities.

He studied Adaptive Forestry at the Technical University in Zvolen, completing his degree in 2017. He then began his PhD studies at the Faculty of Forestry, Department of Silviculture, focusing on the optimisation of the artificial forest regeneration practices. During his studies, Martin participated on the publication of scientific articles published in scientific journals indexed in scientific databases (WOS, SCOPUS) as well as presentation of results within scientific conferences.

Since 2020, he worked as a scientist at the National forest centre (NFC), Science and research section, Department of silviculture and seed control. His professional focus is oriented on forest artificial regeneration practices. Since 2024 he is the coordinator of the Forest arboretum Kysihýbel facility governed by NFC.

Since January 2024, Martin has become a member of the WasteUse program of the LignoSilva Upgrade project team, contributing to establishment, maintenance, assessment, presentation and implementation of demonstration cases and activities.

Martin dedicate his free time to hiking and XC riding activities.
