Michal is the member of the WasteUse program of the LignoSilva Upgrade project team. He assists and help to other WasteUse program members with designation, establishment, maintenance, assessment and implementation of demonstration cases and activities.
He studied Ecology at the Technical University in Zvolen, completing his master degree in 2013. He then began his PhD studies at the same university focusing on ecology and distribution of European chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.). During his studies, Michal participated in several study exchange in abroad and also participated on the publication of scientific articles published in scientific journals indexed in scientific databases (WOS, SCOPUS) as well as presentation of results within several international conferences.
Since 2017, he started to work as a scientist at the National Forest Centre (NFC), Science and research Section, Department of Silviculture and Seed Control. He focuses on research and utilisation of tree species in agroforestry systems in Slovakia. He also specializes in research on the production and ecological assessment of selected native and introduced tree species.

Michal dedicate his free time to swimming, running and travelling.
