Peter Balogh works as a Project Manager at the Project Office of the Centre of Excellence LignoSilva. He is responsible for coordinating the internal grant scheme, supporting international cooperation and mobility of researchers, and promoting the Centre’s activities at national and international events. His role also includes fostering partnerships for new project initiatives.

He studied Forestry at the Technical University in Zvolen, where he obtained his Master’s and PhD degrees. His academic background focused on forest management planning. During his studies, he participated in a student exchange at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Peter has extensive experience in forestry policy, education, and research project coordination. From 2009 to 2023, he held various leadership positions at the National Forest Centre, including Director General. He led several EU-funded projects, contributed to the development of the National Forest Programme, and was actively involved in strategic advisory services and public engagement.

He joined the LignoSilva Centre of Excellence team in 2025. Before that, he worked as a Business Director at WiseWerk, a company focused on innovative hardwood processing technologies.

In his free time, Peter enjoys literature, hunting, and outdoor sports.
