Ružena Kršiaková

Quality Manager

As a specialist analytical chemist, Ružena  develops analytical procedures and selects methods for analyzing components of forest ecosystems within forestry research projects as well as in response to the needs of forestry practice. As an operator of spectroscopic methods, she provides analyses to support monitoring of selected forest components, studies on the impacts of climate change on ecosystems, causes of forest decline, identification of pollution zones, and other forestry-related requirements. She conducts analyses of key forest ecosystem matrices (water, soil, biomass, sediments) and biofuels. She also independently carries out expert work in collecting and processing data for comprehensive forest condition assessments, national forest inventories, and forest monitoring.

In her role as Quality Manager, she oversees the quality system of chemical analyses within the laboratory. She played a key role in achieving accreditation of the Central Forestry Laboratory by the Slovak National Accreditation Service (SNAS) in accordance with ISO STN EN 17025.

Ružena studied Environmental Engineering at the Technical University in Zvolen, graduating in 2015. She also completed an accredited course by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic on Quality Management in Accredited Entitiesand Internal Auditing in Accredited Laboratories.

Her professional expertise lies in analytical chemistry. She has worked at the National Forestry Centre (NLC) since its establishment in 2006, within the Central Forestry Laboratory, and previously at the Pedological Laboratory of Lesoprojekt as an analytical chemist. Currently, she serves as Deputy Head and Quality Manager of the Central Forestry Laboratory.

Ružena has been actively involved in the LignoSilva Upgrade Project since its inception, ensuring the execution of chemical and physico-chemical analyses of samples from demonstration cases and overseeing quality control of all analyses performed.
