Slavomír is a member of the project team and is responsible for Deliverable D5.9 – the WoodPests web platform. Within the project, he coordinates the platform’s development and content, ensuring it effectively supports forest pest management. He integrates expert knowledge with practical tools for users and oversees both the technical implementation and the professional quality of the final solution.

He began his education in forestry at the Secondary Vocational School of Forestry in Banská Štiavnica, where he gained a solid practical and theoretical foundation in forest management and conservation. He then continued his studies at the Technical University in Zvolen, graduating in 2012 with a degree in forestry. Building on his academic achievements, he pursued doctoral studies at the same university, specializing in forest protection, and earned his PhD in 2018.

Since 2013, he has been working at the National Forest Centre in the Forest Protection Service department, where he applies his expertise to research and practical solutions for forest health and pest management.

Since January 2024, Slavo has been a member of the LignoSilva Centre of Excellence team, where he focuses on wood-damaging pests, contributing also to the website.
